Kadu Pires

Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy

Latin Dancer, Performer, Choreographer, Instructor and DJ.

I started Latin Dance when I was 15 years old in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I completed courses in Samba Rock and Pagode (popular styles in Sao Paulo), Zouk-Lambada, Samba no Pe, Hip Hop and Ballet with some of the biggest companies in Sao Paulo, whilst I also appeared in various famous television programs.

After building a reputation as the youngest dancer in São Paulo, I moved to Rio de Janeiro where I returned to the Jimmy de Oliveira Academy to teach samba de gafieira, bolero and soltinho. Over a period of four years, I completed courses with renowned Brazilian dancers including Rogério Mendonza (Salsa), Jimmy de Oliveira (Samba de Gafieira), Rafael Oliveira, Alex de Carvalho, Renata Peçanha and Adilio Porto (Zouk-Lambada) and Henrique Talmah (Contemporary). For two years, I performed at the Alex de Carvalho Academy and taught Samba de Gafieira and Samba no Pe. During this period of time, I also danced with Thalmah Cia de Danca Contemporanea (Contemporary Company) in Rio de Janeiro for one year.

In 2005 I was recognised as a professional dance instructor by the Jimmy de Oliveira Dance Academy. In 2007 I was recognised as a dancer and instructor reference of the new generation of Samba de Gafieira and Samba no Pe in Brazil.

With Larissa Thayane, I was involved with various events extensively throughout Brazil, conducting workshops and performing.

In 2007 we moved to Brisbane Australia to be part of the Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy teaching team. Since then Larissa and I have been conducting workshops and performing extensively throughout Australia and all around the world including the following countries:
