Mafie Zouker

Mafie Zouker was the first person to remix zouk music in Brazil, and is the creator of the innovative philosophy of NeoZouk, and the founder of Zouk Night Love (ZNL), a global network of zouk remix DJs, with both NeoZouk and ZNL now internationally acclaimed brands. Mafie began taking classes in dança de salão at the age of 12, learning bolero, soltinho, samba de gafieira and salsa, and two years later discovered zouk lambada. During his study Mafie trained with zouk lambada greats such as Adilio Porto and Renata Peçanha, and after a dedicated period with them in 2001 he began to create his own unique style.

NeoZouk is a new philosophy, which is as much a part of the music as a part of the dance, and it brings new and innovative influences to zouk lambada without it losing it's essence. Mafie says “Zouk as a dance and as music can be limitless”, and all those who have experienced either his music mixes, classes or who have danced with him know how creative and inspiring he is.

Zouk Night Love are an innovative team of DJ's, producers and instructors from Brazil and around the world who promote new trends which arise in the scene and are major innovators of zouk lambada and zouk music.

Mafie is a sought after DJ and instructor and travels throughout Brazil to all major congresses and festivals along with running specialised workshops. He has travelled internationally to Holland, Belgium, Spain and Australia spreading his unique style of dance and zouk music.
