Yasmin Coelho, Centro de Dança Alex de Carvalho
Yasmin Coelho is a professionally trained ballerina who graduated at the Municipal School of Dance Helba Nogueira. She has many years of dance training in modern, contemporary, and folkloric styles which laid a solid foundation for her professional career in dança de salão. Yasmin has performed at festivals throughout Brazil, and with companies such as Dance Company Renata Peçanha and Fernando Bicudo Opera Ballet. Yasmin performed as part of the spectacular "Gingado Brasileiro" which was presented in Rio de Janeiro, displaying popular partner dance styles along with traditional and folkloric Brazilian styles. Currently partnered with one of Brazil's leading zouk lambada professionals; Rafael Oliveira, Yasmin travels with him teaching and performing throughout Brazil.
Her latest highlights have been participating in Zouk 'n Rio 2009 – Rio de Janeiro, Ilha de Zouk – Ilha Grande Rio de Janeiro, the 1st Great Latin Ball of Rio de Janeiro – Rio de Janeiro, 1st and 2nd Maratona Carioca de Bailes – Rio de Janeiro, and workshops at the Ritt School of Dance – Londrina.
