Alex de Carvalho, Centro de Dança Alex de Carvalho
Alex de Carvalho is the founding director of Centro de Dança Alex de Carvalho in Rio de Janeiro and is one of Brazil's leading zouk lambada practitioners. He is skilled in all Brazilian partner dance styles and began dancing in 1996 at Centro de Dança Jaime Arôxa, the largest dança de salão academy in Brazil.
Alex is a highly sort after performer, choreographer and instructor who is constantly on the move, visiting his affiliate school in the city Londrina, travelling to perform and choreograph for Brazilian television shows such as Brazil's version of 'Dancing with the Star's', acting as a consultant for various dance academies, running workshops and participating in many of Brazil's most important dança de salão congresses. While in Rio de Janeiro he organises zouk lambada events and ensures that his school and company are up to date. A source of inspiration Alex has taught many of the world's leading zouk lambada dancers, including Brisbane's own Kadu Pires and Larissa Thayane.
